Welcome to Bilingual Babies

This site contains parenting resources and reflections from a San Francisco Bay Area family seeking to raise their kids to be multilingual.

Mom (me!) is a Chinese-Canadian who grew up learning Cantonese at home, English and French in school, and later majoring in German in College.  Dad is a Korean-American who probably spoke Korean at some point in his life, but these days, as he says, "I only speak English, and I don't even do that very well!"  We have been teaching our boys English and Cantonese at home, but due to the practical issues of finding schools, etc., they are learning Mandarin Chinese in school.

Read our blog to follow the triumphs and roadbumps along the way to teaching our children their second and third languages.  Also check in for the latest news about language learning opportunities and research.

We also have also listings of Chinese language schools and classes in the Bay Area, as well as general resources for raising multilingual children.  Just follow the links below the page header.

Enjoy!
